Project Ideas
A starter list of project ideas for the Summer 2026 Web Applications team. Each one is a plausible real-world web application — small enough to prototype over the summer, but with enough surface area that several students can split up the work (data model, scraping, scheduling, frontend, deployment).
You are not required to pick one of these. They exist so that students who don’t yet have an idea can join an existing project, and so that the team has a sense of the kind of scope we’re aiming for.
The ideas:
- League Pods — parent-organized after-school pods, with vendor booking.
- Summer Camp Jam — coordinated summer camp planning across friend groups.
- Sublet for Good / Civic Space — matching vacant commercial space with nonprofits.
- Science at Home — booking short science events for birthday parties and similar.
- The Quartermaster — inventory and lending system for tabletop minis, terrain, and books.
- Link Up — group scheduler for squads that merges calendars with AI-captured preferences.
For each idea, the write-up sketches the problem, who the users are, the main pieces of the application, and a few possible stretch features. None of these are specifications — they’re starting points to argue with.
