A classroom media and family communication platform for youth programs: instructors capture photos, videos, and quick updates during class; families get a private feed of their own child plus a class recap email after each session.

The problem

Parents of younger students usually hear “How was class?” and get a one-word answer. Meanwhile instructors see the real story in the room: kids building robots, debugging code, helping teammates, and having fun. Those moments are powerful for parent trust and student motivation, but they are hard to capture consistently and share safely.

Most programs currently rely on ad hoc text threads or one-off photo dumps. That creates privacy risk, misses context, and gives parents little insight into what their child is actually learning.

What the app does

  • Lets instructors quickly capture photos/videos and tag students in class.

  • Generates a post-class recap email with highlights and a secure link to that class session.
  • Supports family feedback (quick reactions, comments, or “questions for next class”) so instructors can close the loop.
  • Optionally includes snapshots of student output: code snippets, robot photos, or mini project milestones.

Why it’s a reasonable summer project

The v1 can be scoped tightly: class sessions, media uploads, private parent feed, and recap emails. That already delivers real value to a program and can be tested with real users quickly. It exercises practical full-stack skills (auth, permissions, media, notifications, and UX) while staying grounded in a clear audience students can interview and iterate with.
